November sees Olive celebrate its 20th year, and what better way to mark the occasion than going back to the place it all began, Eaton Production in Worksop. Co-Founders, Sally-Ann, Damon and Andrew spent the day serving employees at Eaton a celebratory lunch to say a big thank you for being contract number one. The menu of the day was based the ever popular customer promotion ‘Legends of Greece’.
On a day filled with nostalgia, it was clear to see that the four core values set out on day one had truly been the foundation of Olive’s 20 year success. Food, People, Communication and Finance remain at the heart of everything they do.
Eaton’s Managing Director, Neil Gill reflected on the day he awarded the contract to Olive and how the gamble he took on a work place caterer that had no clients, paid off. Remarking that they were all much greyer than they were in 2004 but that the partnership they had created back then had stood strong through recessions, business changes and even a pandemic. Serving great food to people at work, bringing innovation and fun to break times was the brief and Olive have delivered year after year.
People also remain at the core of Olive’s success and this could not have been more apparent than having the very first Olive Team Member join them on the day. Starting as Chef Manager at Eaton, Lindsay Smith served the very first meal for Olive back in 2004, before embarking on a 20 year career path that took her to Operations Manager, then on to Sales Manager and now her current role as Regional Director. Lindsay embodies everything about Olive that has made it a success and, together with the senior team, continues to keep the four core values alive.
